After obtaining his undergraduate degree in biomedical science at Quinnipiac University, Steven stayed to obtain his master's degree in medical laboratory science as well as work as an EMT for several years before starting medical school. 

Professionally his interests include Trauma/Crit-care and Colorectal surgery

Personal interests include gastronomy/cooking, traveling, going to the gym, and drinking coffee.
